Photography / studio notes

  Instructions
  • White backdrop
  • Don't stand right at the back of the backdrop - Stand 5 to 6 feet away from background or the model will bleach in and the image may look unprofessional.
  • Lights off when shooting - use headlights to gain the full effect of the cameras and lighting effects
  • On/off  Button at back of headlights 
  • Test button on lighting tools and on the remote transmitter.
  • Highest flash setting is 6. 


Lighting
  • Godox - Remote control/ Transmitter
  • Flash on, Turn off when finished 
  • Same with receiver 
  • key light - Main light 
  • 3 point lighting 
  • Fill light - reduces shadow
  • Hair light - Separates model from backdrop, creates spacing behind the model.
  • 3 to 1 Lighting ratio - 4, 3, 1.5
  • Soft Box - Diffuses light
Camera features
  • DSLR model
  • 2 Card memory slot
  • A- Aperture - Determines how much is on focus 
  • S- Shutter - capturing movement e.g  Blowing hair
  • Lens - 18-105
  • Colour of image depends on whether the camera is on the monochrome (black and white) setting or the standard setting (colour).
 Reflectors/ Effects
  • Gold reflector - Gives warm tone and makes the models face glow
  • White - Knock light back - Takeaway shadow 
  • Silver - Stronger than white one.
